Kacyee played high school softball locally at Lincoln-Way East. As the starting pitcher and hitter at the varsity level for 3 consecutive years, she assisted LWE to a 2012 conference championship during her senior season. In addition to pitching, she was utilized as a middle infielder and utility player through her travel ball career. Continuing her softball career at Western Illinois University, Kacyee was the starting pitcher all four years for the WIU Leathernecks. Despite focusing on pitching alone during her junior and sophomore year, she returned to the plate in her final season hitting .375.
